4K reverse camera: does it actually exist? Rê gives you the real deal

Have you ever seen an internet ad for a 4K reverse camera, even at a great price? If so, I’m going to tell you how this came about in the market…

Basically, brands compete against each other, and there is a culture and trend in the market of creating names that increase desire.

And that’s how, in the Marketing department, the 4K concept was born!

The idea behind the nomenclature was to position some cameras as premium products in the market and make them stand out from others in the same category. In practice, the bad part is that some of them didn’t even reach HD resolution… and then the product fell far short of reality.

Additionally, there is a very important technical compatibility limit: even if the camera did deliver 4K resolution, your car’s multimedia center wouldn’t be able to process that image (because it wasn’t designed for it).

Help, so how do I choose a camera:

• Check the description for glass lenses: the more glass lenses the reverse camera has, the better the sharpness and durability of the image, as glass doesn’t turn yellow from sun exposure and doesn’t scratch easily like plastic.

• Look at the back of the product: there are usually more complete technical details there to help you make your choice.

• It must have a frequency chip: this is important to minimize electromagnetic interference and ensure the image arrives clean and noise-free on your media screen or rearview mirror.

• Night vision with LED: If you often maneuver in dark garages or poorly lit areas, choosing a model with integrated LEDs will give you a boost in visibility in the dark.

• Appropriate protection rating: it needs to have IP67 rating to prevent water entry during rain, as well as dust or dirt!

• If you’re choosing an HD camera for your media player: remember to check if it actually manages to transmit HD without dropping the resolution.

To wrap up, I want to tell you something interesting that you might not know: TECH ONE’s reverse camera won the trophy for Best Reverse Camera in Brazil at the Prêmio Marca Brasil, by popular vote. In other words: the vote of those who actually use it!
